A group of tourists dined at a seafood restaurant on Tran Phu Street (Loc Tho Ward, Nha Trang City), then accused the restaurant of "ripping off" sea urchins at 1.8 million VND/kg - Photo cut from clip

On May 27, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Tran Van Vo Thinh - Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province) - said that the unit is searching for information about the account owner who posted the content denouncing the "overcharging" of sea urchin dishes at Chin Loc seafood restaurant, Nha Trang City.

According to Mr. Thinh, this person has now deleted the denunciation post, so it is difficult to contact him. In case of necessity, if this person is not invited to work, the unit will ask the police to intervene.

"We will try to clarify, this incident has affected Nha Trang tourism " - Mr. Thinh said.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Quoc - captain of Market Management Team No. 1 ( Khanh Hoa Market Management Department) - said that the unit worked directly with the owner of Chin Loc seafood restaurant, who provided camera clips and images of the group of diners related to the content of the accusation of "overcharging" for sea urchin dishes.

Mr. Quoc said that through working with the seafood restaurant owner and related documents, he did not discover any signs of price violations or "overcharging" at the restaurant.

According to Mr. Quoc, to prove his innocence and maintain Nha Trang's tourism image, seafood restaurant owners should send a petition to competent authorities, including the police, to intervene and handle the matter.

On the same day, Mr. Chau Van Chin - owner of Chin Loc seafood restaurant - said that up to now, he has not received any response or apology from the group of diners who accused his seafood restaurant of "rip-off".

According to Mr. Chin, if the group of diners still do not contact him, he will file a complaint with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police requesting action when accusing his restaurant of "overcharging" without basis.

On May 25, 26, and 27, reporters attempted to contact the above-mentioned group of tourists to verify the information, but have yet to receive a response.

Previously, on May 25, a Facebook account named EB posted an article titled "If you want to eat, avoid this restaurant. It's a scam, scamming 1 sea urchin for 4 million VND, parents."

Attached to the article is a picture of the bill for food and drinks totaling 4.45 million VND, including a 2.2kg sea urchin with a unit price of 1.8 million VND/kg, totaling 3.96 million VND...

This information was later denied by the restaurant owner. Many people in Nha Trang and comments on social networks also said that the above price of sea cucumbers is suitable for the general price level in many places today.
