The reason is the Swedish striker's high price. The Athletic said Newcastle United asked for around £150 million. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that it was a figure that MU was not willing to pay.
After signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, MU no longer has much money. Instead, the Manchester club has turned to more practical targets. The "Red Devils" are said to have resumed contact with Aston Villa to recruit striker Ollie Watkins. The price of this deal is around 60 million pounds.
Watkins is not cheap but United have tried to raise funds by selling Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia. Most recently, they let Marcus Rashford join Barcelona on loan.

Newcastle's valuation of Isak at £150m has made it difficult for many teams. However, Al Hilal and Liverpool are said to have the financial capacity to make the deal happen. If Isak joins Liverpool, he will become the most expensive signing in Premier League transfer history.
Isak is one of Europe's top strikers, scoring 23 Premier League goals last season, second only to Mohamed Salah (29). He joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in August 2022 for a fee of around £60m.
