Mr. Hung further clarified that every year, the school imports textbooks from the Department of Education and Training of Chuong My District. However, this year, the Department of Education and Training of Chuong My District has been dissolved, so it imports books from Phong Tung Investment and Trading Company Limited (Phong Tung Company) in Xuan Mai Commune. Meanwhile, Phong Tung Company imports books from Ha Tay Book and School Equipment Joint Stock Company (in the old Ha Dong District, Hanoi ).

At Xuan Mai A Secondary School, Ms. Tao Thi Hong Hanh (principal) said that as of the same morning, the school had checked and initially discovered 183 English books with unusual signs.

Of these, there are 121 books for grade 6, 31 books for grade 7, 16 books for grade 8 and 15 books for grade 9. "There are still some parents who have not brought books to school to check because their families are traveling ," Ms. Hanh added.

Immediately after determining that the English books had signs of abnormality, the school sent an official dispatch to Phong Tung Company to check and review the origin of the imported books and their quality. At the same time, the company was required to exchange other books if the books delivered to the school did not meet quality standards.

"I hope this matter will be resolved soon, so that parents and teachers can rest assured. From there, the school will have time to repair facilities and prepare for the new school year," said Ms. Hanh.

Thus, as of the morning of August 18, the total number of English books showing signs of abnormality at Be Tong Primary School and Xuan Mai A Secondary School is 204 books.

As Thanh Nien reported, recently, many parents suspected that Xuan Mai A Primary School, Xuan Mai A Secondary School, and Be Tong Primary School distributed new school year textbooks that included English books suspected to be fake.

Notably, at Xuan Mai A Primary School, a parent of a 5th grader said that although the school had not yet distributed English books, when checking the old 4th grade English books (school year 2024 - 2025), they discovered 3 books with unusual signs, suspected to be fake books.

From the above reflection, Xuan Mai commune sent staff to verify and requested the school to report on the book distribution.
