On the morning of August 16, in Nam Vien village, Nghi Xuan Commune People's Committee organized Vuc Rao fishing festival. This is considered a unique festival, imbued with the folk culture of local people. Although the weather was unfavorable and it was raining heavily, from early morning, many people and tourists from everywhere came here to participate in the Vuc Rao fishing festival. The festival takes place in Dam Vuc area, located at the foot of Hong Linh mountain range, more than 1 km long with an area of about 30 hectares, home to many species of freshwater fish. After the drum beat to open the festival, young and old, men and women bring fishing tools such as traps, nets, and cast nets to Dam Vuc area to participate in fishing.

The festival atmosphere was bustling, enthusiastic, joyful, and healthy. The sound of fishing nets and the cheers of chasing fish echoed off the cliffs, making the countryside bustling. Vuc Rao fishing festival is a cultural activity that has been maintained and developed over many centuries and has been deeply ingrained in the minds and emotions of many generations of Nghi Xuan people. After the fishing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded first, second and third prizes to individuals who caught the heaviest fish. The Vuc Rao fishing festival has existed for over 300 years, a local festival that has been deeply engraved in the hearts of the people of Xuan Vien in the past and Nghi Xuan commune today from generation to generation.
