Born in Ban Sao village, Yen Phong commune, Thai Nguyen province, into a near-poverty household, Hoang Thi Bich Le's childhood was filled with hardships on her way to school. During her secondary school years, she cycled nearly 20km each day, and in high school, the daily commute was almost 30km.

During the rainy season, there were many days when the water flooded, and I had to wait for hours to cross the stream. Some days I even skipped breakfast to make it to school on time. However, I always believed that education was the path to escaping poverty.

Throughout her high school years, Le's efforts helped her get accepted into the Journalism program at the University of Science (Thai Nguyen University). In her first year, she lived in the dormitory to save money, then moved out to rent a room and work part-time to cover her living expenses and lessen the burden on her parents. As a student from an ethnic minority group in a disadvantaged area, Le received tuition fee reductions, but she always reminded herself to study hard to be worthy of that support.

Three years away from home, student life tested the willpower of the young girl, but Le never gave up. On the contrary, she was even more determined than her friends to repay her parents' kindness and fulfill the expectations of her hometown.

Currently, Le is a third-year student in the Faculty of Journalism & Communication, with a cumulative GPA of 3.38/4, having achieved a GPA of 3.81/4 in one semester. She has received the "Outstanding Student" award at the university level multiple times, has been commended as an "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings," and has been recommended by the University's Youth Union to participate in a training course on Party awareness.

Not only is Le an excellent student, but she is also actively involved in scientific research – a field that demands significant time and knowledge. Despite limited resources, she persevered in searching for materials, consulting with lecturers, and making numerous revisions to perfect her research topic. As a result, Le's research was graded as Excellent, becoming an important stepping stone towards her dream of becoming a journalist and bringing the voice of the highlands to the community.

Besides studying, Le participates in blood donation clubs, "Green Sunday" programs, and environmental activities. Friends and teachers all describe her as simple, hardworking, optimistic, and always ready to help others.

Speaking about Le, her homeroom teacher, Ms. Pham Thi Van Huyen, commented: "Le is a bright student, proactive in her research, and possesses strong critical thinking skills – these are important qualities for a journalist. I believe she will become a courageous and humane journalist, spreading positivity to society." Recently, Le received a scholarship from the Journalists & Public Opinion Newspaper, awarded to ethnic minority students with a GPA of "Good" or higher.
