Windows 11 unexpectedly loses market share

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên02/12/2024

Specifically, Windows 11 now accounts for about 34.94% of the market share, down 0.64% compared to last month. With Microsoft only supporting two versions of Windows, it is not surprising that the decline of Windows 11 means an increase in Windows 10's market share, with an increase of 0.88% to 61.83%.

Microsoft tries to push users to upgrade to Windows 11

With Windows 10 reaching end of support in just over 10 months, its market share of over 61% is causing concern. To promote the transition to Windows 11, Microsoft is rolling out full-screen ads touting the many new features of Windows 11 and Copilot+ PC to Windows 10 users.

Since not everyone can upgrade right away, Microsoft also offers a $30 one-year security update extension for Windows 10. For those who don’t want to pay, there are a few other options to keep Windows 10 up to date, including upgrading unsupported computers to Windows 11, if they can live with the inconveniences of these special editions.
