Lung Cu commune planted over 1,100 chestnut trees.

On the morning of April 16th, Lung Cu commune held a ceremony to launch the planting of over 1,114 chestnut trees as part of a model for converting to high-economic-value crops. Attending the ceremony were commune leaders; the Excelsior Captain Vietnam team – the unit that sponsored the seedlings – and a large number of local residents.

The sponsoring organization donated saplings to the people of Lung Cu commune.

Lung Cu commune has a unique climate and rich soil with great potential for developing temperate crops. In recent years, the locality has gradually oriented itself towards transforming its crop structure to suit local conditions, with chestnut trees being considered a crop with many advantages such as easy adaptability, resistance to pests and diseases, high economic value, and stable market demand, helping people increase their income and improve their living standards.

At the launch event, the leaders of Lung Cu commune emphasized the significance of transforming the crop structure towards increasing economic value, contributing to the effective implementation of the agricultural development program associated with sustainable poverty reduction. The chestnut tree cultivation model is expected to open up a new direction in the commune's agricultural economic development. The commune People's Committee also committed to accompanying and supporting the model with technical assistance, seedlings, and product consumption guidance to ensure its effectiveness.
