In Group A, Uzbekistan held the UAE to a 0-0 draw in the decisive match. This result was enough to help the Central Asian team qualify for the 2026 World Cup along with group leader Iran. This is the first time in history that Uzbekistan has qualified for the World Cup.
Similarly, in Group B, Jordan also qualified for the World Cup for the first time. The runners-up of the 2023 Asian Cup made a strong impression with a 3-0 victory over Oman. Thanks to that, they, along with South Korea, are the teams in this group that have qualified for the tournament in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Thus, up to this point, Asia has determined 5 places to attend the 2026 World Cup: Japan, South Korea, Iran, Jordan and Uzbekistan. The remaining direct spot will likely belong to Australia. Before the final round, the Kangaroo team is 3 points ahead of Saudi Arabia. The two teams will meet in the final round.
The third and fourth-placed teams in the groups in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Asia will continue to the fourth qualifying round. The six teams are divided into two groups of three teams each. The group winners will qualify for the World Cup. The two runners-up will participate in the fifth qualifying round.

In South America, Argentina is the only team to have qualified for the World Cup so far. Ecuador or Paraguay could be the team to continue this honor if they win the next round of matches.
In Oceania, New Zealand has already secured a ticket after winning against New Caledonia in the final. This is the first World Cup where Oceania has a full place, so New Zealand does not have to wait for the play-offs like every year.
Finally, the three host countries, the US, Mexico and Canada, also automatically got tickets.
Thus, up to now, FIFA has determined 10 teams participating in the 2026 World Cup finals: the US, Canada, Mexico (host); Japan, South Korea, Iran, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Argentina and New Zealand.
