Entering their second season in the AFC Women's Champions League 2025-2026, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club continues to impress by advancing beyond the group stage for the second consecutive time.

This helped Coach Kim Chi's team become one of the eight teams to qualify for the quarterfinals of the AFC Women's Champions League, finishing second in Group A. This also marks the second consecutive time that Huynh Nhu and her teammates have reached the knockout stage.

Last season, the Ho Chi Minh City women's club consistently created surprises and set historical milestones for Vietnamese women's football, staging spectacular comebacks in the quarter-finals, reaching the semi-finals, and only losing to the defending champions, Wuhan Jiangda (China), on their opponent's home ground.

However, this year's performance by Coach Kim Chi's team, with only 3 goals scored and 3 goals conceded, means they are not among the seeded teams for the best second-place finish. This means the Ho Chi Minh City women's club will have to play away in the quarterfinals. Huynh Nhu and her teammates will face one of three teams: Wuhan Jiangda, Tokyo Verdy Beleza, or Naegohyang.

Besides the representative from Ho Chi Minh City, the remaining quarter-final spots went to Melbourne City (Australia, Group A winner), Wuhan Jiangda (China, Group B winner), Nasaf (Uzbekistan, Group B runner-up), along with the top two teams from Group C, including Tokyo Verdy Beleza (Japan) and Naegohyang (North Korea), and the two best third-placed teams, Suwon (South Korea, Group C third-placed) and Stallion Laguna (Philippines, Group A third-placed).

The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2025-2026 AFC Women's Champions League will take place on January 15, 2026, while the quarter-final matches will be held on March 22 and 23, 2026.
