Building Lang Son into the economic center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region

On August 13, the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Lang Son Province was held with the participation of 298 delegates representing 34 grassroots party organizations and over 3,700 active party members.

During the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Lang Son province has closely followed the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; proactively and promptly issued leadership and direction documents in accordance with the practical situation.

Party building work has also achieved positive results. The Party's guidelines and resolutions and the State's laws and policies have been thoroughly grasped, concretized and seriously implemented; the work of grasping and orienting public opinion has been carried out promptly.

The reorganization of agencies and units and the implementation of the two-level local government model were carried out resolutely, on schedule, and with quality assurance; after the reorganization, agencies and units operated stably without interruption.

During the term, the border gate economy continued to develop, achieving many positive results, with high customs clearance efficiency, averaging about 1,550 vehicles/day, peaking at over 2,000 vehicles/day.

Comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province delivered the opening speech at the Congress.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the total import-export turnover of all types of goods through the province reached 41,710.4 million USD, an increase of 39.22% over the same period.

Administrative procedures are gradually simplified, digital transformation in management and operation, digital border gates operate stably, creating publicity, transparency, reducing time and costs for people and businesses.

Delegates from various sectors attended the Congress.

Tourism continues to develop, implementing many solutions, especially digital transformation in tourism promotion and advertising; ASEAN-standard tourist villages are built and promoted to attract tourists.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the number of tourists is estimated at 3.11 million, reaching 70.7% of the plan, up 4.7% over the same period; revenue is 2,931 billion VND, reaching 65.1% of the plan, up 12.6% over the same period.

Organize the Ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition of the title of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark; submit to the Provincial People's Council to issue a Resolution stipulating a number of policies to support the development of community tourism in Lang Son province and promote the value of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark in the period of 2021-2025.

During the 2025-2030 term, the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Lang Son province determined the goal of continuing to build a clean and strong Party Committee; proactively developing science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation associated with improving growth quality; strengthening national defense and security, expanding foreign relations; maintaining a peaceful, friendly and cooperative border, striving to build Lang Son into one of the growth poles and economic center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.

The Party Committee also identified the breakthrough focus in the coming term: developing the Dong Dang-Lang Son border gate economic zone into a modern and dynamic border gate economic center; a national and international logistics service center.

Comrade Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lang Son province delivered a speech directing the Congress.

At the same time, the Party Committee focuses on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector; prioritizing the development of tourism products associated with the UNESCO Global Geopark, and soon completing and putting into operation Mau Son Tourist Area.

The number of tourists by 2030 will reach about 6,000,000; tourism revenue will reach 10,000 billion VND or more.

Promoting the results achieved in digital transformation work of the previous term, the Party Committee also set the goal of effectively implementing the tasks of building digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy, digital society, digital border gates; and developing digital human resources.

In the 2025-2030 term, the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Lang Son province also set a target of the proportion of digital economy in the province's GRDP reaching more than 30%; building Lang Son into an economic center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.

The Party Committee of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee identifies the 2025-2030 term as a breakthrough period, advancing with the new era of the nation.
