Building a civilized and modern Thong Nhat ward

(GLO)- Today (August 18), the Thong Nhat Ward Party Committee (Gia Lai province) held its first Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term. This is a broad political activity, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, will and determination towards the goal of building a comprehensively developed, civilized and sustainable ward.

Thong Nhat Ward was established on the basis of merging 3 wards: Yen The, Dong Da and Thong Nhat (old). The ward has an area of 22.92 km², population of more than 48,700 people; of which, ethnic minorities account for more than 4.3%. The ward Party Committee currently has 40 grassroots party organizations with 2,513 party members.

Imprint of solidarity and unity

During the 2020 - 2025 term, the Party Committees of Yen The, Dong Da and Thong Nhat wards (old) focused on Party building, improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations; innovating the operation methods of the Front and mass organizations, focusing on the grassroots, creating consensus and solidarity among the people.

The local economy continues to develop in a positive direction. In particular, trade, services, and small-scale industry remain stable; agriculture has a reasonable shift in crop structure, application of science and technology, and increased product value.

Mr. Pham The Tam - Chairman of Thong Nhat Ward People's Committee - said: In the period of 2020 - 2024, the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production of the ward increased by about 1.4 times; the value of products collected per hectare of cultivated land reached 256.84 million VND, an increase of 94 million VND compared to 2020.

Total state budget revenue reached 124.9% of the plan. The ward has 170 projects and works implemented with a total capital of more than 443 billion VND, contributing to changing the urban appearance and improving people's lives.

The cultural and social fields have many positive changes. The ward has supported 23/24 households to escape poverty, 37/52 households to get out of the near-poor list; coordinated to build and repair 25 houses for policy families, poor households, and disadvantaged households.

In particular, with the motto "The State and the people work together", the ward mobilized resources to upgrade 34.2 km of roads with a total investment value of more than 30.3 billion VND.

“The results achieved are clear evidence of the solidarity and determination of the political system and the people, under the close leadership of the Ward Party Committee. This is the foundation for the ward to promote its potential and build a civilized and modern locality in the new period,” affirmed Ward Party Committee Secretary Tran Thi Hong Nguyet.

Towards comprehensive and sustainable economic development

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Ward Party Committee sets out the motto of action "Solidarity - Creativity - Aspiration - Rising up"; determining comprehensive socio-economic development, closely linked with ensuring national defense - security and social security.

Accordingly, the ward focuses on exploiting existing urban advantages, promoting the development of science and technology, innovation; prioritizing the development of trade, services, processing industry and handicrafts; applying high technology in agricultural production.

Along with economic development, the ward focuses on improving people's quality of life, strengthening national solidarity, promoting the spirit of self-reliance to successfully implement the Congress Resolution.

In terms of economy, the ward Party Committee aims to improve the quality of planning and urban infrastructure; promote investment attraction in advantageous industries; complete the synchronous infrastructure system and inter-regional connectivity. By 2030, the ward's product value growth rate will reach 11.2%; total budget revenue will reach 120 billion VND; attract 5 new investment projects...

In addition, the Ward Party Committee focuses on building a clean and strong Party and political system. The focus is on renewing thinking, improving leadership capacity, and the quality of staff to meet the requirements of digital transformation and integration.

Officials and civil servants must thoroughly grasp the spirit of "working until the job is done, not until the time is up", wholeheartedly and responsibly serving the people. Promote the movement of "Skilled mass mobilization", create consensus, mobilize people's strength to build a strong locality.

According to Secretary of the Ward Party Committee Tran Thi Hong Nguyet, to achieve the above goals, the ward focuses on implementing two key programs. The first is a breakthrough program to develop urban infrastructure, improve planning quality, mobilize resources to invest in synchronous infrastructure, expand inter-regional connectivity, and create a foundation to promote socio-economic growth.

The second is a program to improve people's quality of life, linking development with preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, especially in ethnic minority villages, ensuring that people enjoy the fruits of development.
