According to the image shared by Kurdistan Automotive Blog account, the 2026 Hilux has a completely new interior design, with a more angular dashboard, expanded storage compartments and an additional overhead compartment. The image shows this is the left-hand drive version, but Toyota confirmed that it will also produce a right-hand drive version to serve the global market.
The highlight of the new design is the floating central entertainment screen, larger than the previous generation but still has thick borders and 8 physical buttons on both sides, showing that Toyota still maintains the mechanical operation element to ensure convenience in difficult terrain conditions. Both sides of the dashboard are also integrated with convenient cup holders. The cabin also has a space for a digital clock, in line with current equipment trends.

However, experts say the screen size of the new Hilux is somewhat modest compared to other pickup models from the same brand such as Tundra, Tacoma or Land Cruiser 250, which have a seamlessly integrated design and larger screen.
Not only changing the interior design, Toyota Hilux 2026 is developed based on the upgraded IMV ladder chassis platform, expected to continue to maintain durable, multi-terrain operation - which is the traditional strength of Hilux.

The exterior is also being modernized by Toyota, with the front and rear of the car expected to be sharper, to compete with rivals in the segment such as the Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi Triton.
In terms of engines, recent Australian registration documents reveal that the 2026 Hilux will use a 2.8L mild-hybrid 48V diesel engine, replacing the current 2.7L petrol and 2.4L turbo diesel engine options.

In addition, Toyota is likely to develop a high-performance variant to compete directly with the Ford Ranger Raptor. This version can use the i-Force Max 2.4L hybrid powertrain from the Tacoma model, producing up to 326 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque.
The 2026 Toyota Hilux is expected to make its global debut later this year, ushering in a new product cycle for the mainstay pickup truck in Toyota's global vehicle portfolio.
