The First Class Labor Medal is a noble award from the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense in recognition of the contributions that generations of Viettel Telecom officers and employees have strived for over the past 25 years.
Previously, Viettel Telecom received the title of Hero of Labor in the renovation period (December 2011), Third-class Labor Medal (May 2008), Second-class Labor Medal (2014, 2020) and many other noble awards.


Ready to transform into a technology company
Speaking at the event, Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh, General Director of Viettel Telecom, affirmed that the unit is ready to transform from a traditional telecommunications company to a world- class technology company (Techco), with the target of service revenue reaching 115 trillion VND by 2030.
Viettel Telecom's development strategy in the new era focuses on:
Technology and network transformation including telecommunications and Internet infrastructure, data infrastructure, digital utility infrastructure; pioneering in technology: AI, cloud-native, IoT, 6G readiness, safety and security technology.
Focus on developing products and services that are platform-oriented, with open architecture, integrating AI and Cloud for individual customers, households and businesses. Expanding cooperation with Bigtechs around the world in researching and developing platform services, in which Viettel Telecom holds core technology and platforms. New business models based on alliances, cooperation, resource and benefit sharing are the main stream in business.

Shifting the revenue structure towards rapidly increasing the proportion of revenue from non-telecommunications fields, products and services. The target is for the proportion of revenue from non-telecommunications services to account for 20% or more of service revenue - on par with Telco transforming into Techco in the world.
Applying standardized professional operating and management methods according to the models of leading technology companies. AI is applied in all internal activities, for products and services provided to customers, the process system is mainly operated by AI, decisions are based on data analysis with the help of AI to ensure speed, accuracy and efficiency; increase human resources in the field of information technology.
Recognizing Viettel Telecom's contribution to the overall development of the Group, Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel, stated that Viettel Telecom not only contributes to revenue, builds up the Group's potential, expands investment budget and promotes new industries, but is also a symbol of Viettel's culture and spirit, always shining in every challenge.

Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang requested that in the next 5 years, Viettel Telecom must transform from a Telco to a global Techco, as the Corporation has determined; at the same time, expressed confidence in the solutions and actions that Viettel Telecom has proposed.
"These are very clear and feasible solutions, both solid enough to maintain core services well and breakthroughs to enter and dominate new services" - Viettel's Chairman and General Director emphasized.

Universal service coverage – From 5% to more than 100% of the population
In 2004, Vietnam had less than 5% of the population having access to mobile services. Just 5 years later, thanks to Viettel Telecom's pioneering work in breaking the monopoly and popularizing telecommunications, the service penetration rate reached over 100%. Not stopping there, Viettel continued to lead the trend of popularizing smartphones and broadband internet, contributing to making Vietnam one of the countries with the fastest digital infrastructure development in the region.
Leading technology - High speed connection to every home

Social Responsibility - Showing gratitude to society through practical actions
With the philosophy of "Business associated with social responsibility", Viettel Telecom has implemented a series of programs with profound humanitarian meaning:
“Heart for Children” Program: Screening for congenital heart disease for more than 180,000 children, performing more than 7,800 successful surgeries, with a total donation from Viettel and individuals, organizations, and businesses of nearly 330 billion VND.
Free internet for more than 39,500 schools and educational institutions, contributing to promoting digital education.
"For studious children" program: After 10 years of implementation, 230,000 scholarships have been awarded to poor studious students nationwide with a total value of more than 290 billion VND.
Program "Breeding cows to help the poor in border areas": donated more than 24,000 breeding cows, worth over 360 billion VND to poor people in 11 border provinces.
