Container truck crashes into passenger car, killing two people.

On the morning of June 24th, leaders of the Khanh Hoa Department of Transport announced that a traffic accident on the Nha Trang – Cam Lam expressway, in the section passing through Cam Ranh City, between a car and a container truck resulted in 2 deaths and 3 injuries.

Earlier that same morning, driver Nguyen Tan Duy was driving a 5-seater car carrying NTT, NVT, and another young man on the Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway, heading from North to South.

While driving through Cam Phuoc Dong commune, Cam Ranh city, the car was rear-ended by a container truck driven by Nguyen Van Hanh, carrying two other people, traveling in the same direction.

The accident caused the car to be severely damaged. Mr. NTT and Mr. NVT, who were in the car, died; three other people in the two vehicles were injured and taken to Cam Ranh City General Hospital for emergency treatment, two of whom sustained serious injuries and had to be transferred to the Provincial General Hospital.

According to the Department of Transportation, after the incident, traffic police examined the scene, measured the alcohol level of the container truck driver, and determined that he did not violate the alcohol limit.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
