Photography awards are presented in six categories including Action, Creative, Documentary, Pets & People, Portraits, and a new category - Horse Portraits.
Dogs appear most at photography awards
According to Popular Science, dogs are the animals that appear most in the works, accounting for nearly 80% of the photos submitted, worthy of the title "man's most photographed friend".
Animal photography is one of the most challenging genres of photography, requiring patience, skill, and luck. Unlike humans who can pose on command, animals act on instinct, making it difficult to capture a memorable moment.
The photographer must be ready to face unpredictable situations from his own "character".
Sometimes, they have to wait for hours, even days, just to get a single photo. The supporting equipment also needs to be specialized, from lenses to anti-shake, waterproof cameras.
Moreover, to capture real and vivid moments, photographers need to clearly understand the habits and activity times of each species.
It is not only art, but also a combination of science, passion and adventure.

Therefore, every successful animal photo is always the result of a persistent, quiet but inspiring journey.
The winners of the International Pet Photography Awards have achieved the seemingly impossible by capturing pets such as dogs, cats and horses in their most natural moments.
