The film Red Rain was produced by the People's Army Film Studio.
Released almost a week ago, I'm personally very excited to see the film. At the CGV Vincom Son La cinema complex, unlike other movie screenings, this time I witnessed a bustling atmosphere with a large number of viewers queuing to buy tickets. The screening of "Red Rain" that I watched started at 7:05 PM and ended after 9:00 PM, but the cinema was still bustling with people buying tickets for the next screening.
Watching the late-night screening at over 10 PM with his family, Mr. Do Quang Vinh from Chieng An ward said: "My whole family was excitedly waiting for the film. I believe that excellent war films like 'Red Rain' will be more valuable than any history lesson for my children. I hope that, after the success of 'Red Rain,' Vietnamese cinema will have more films about war so that the younger generation will increasingly appreciate the peace we enjoy today."
The movie Red Rain attracted a large audience to the theaters.
Released at a time when the whole country was enthusiastically celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the film "Red Rain" quickly became a phenomenon in Vietnamese cinema. Despite tackling the theme of war films, which are generally considered dry and appeal to a niche audience, the film is attracting a large number of viewers to cinemas across the province.
Responding to public expectations, CGV Vincom Son La cinema complex increased the number of screenings, with some days featuring up to 16 screenings at different times. After the film officially premiered, the enthusiastic public response to this historical film was truly surprising. In the first few days of its release, most screenings were sold out, with over 50% of tickets booked online in advance; the audience consisted of people of all ages, and encouragingly, over 70% were young people.

The 124-minute film fully portrays the brutality and tragedy of war. Each character leads the viewer to witness the conflicting emotions in every situation: both courage and cowardice, good and evil, the explosion of positive and negative emotions... of people who, every second, every minute, face death that could come at any moment. Interwoven within these images that send shivers down the viewer's spine in the face of this cruel reality are moments of peace, romance, and poetic love blossoming amidst the bombs and bullets...

The movie theater was quiet, and I saw the young people sitting next to me, and even my own children, unable to hold back their tears, deeply moved by the heroic sacrifice of the soldiers defending the Quang Tri Citadel . "Red Rain" is not just a film, but a bridge connecting our generation, those born and raised in peace, with a generation whose youth was spent in trenches and amidst bombs and bullets. Their sacrifice is not a story of the past; it is an integral part of the fabric of our nation today, so that each of us may appreciate the word "peace" even more.
The film ends with the words: "Blood and bones are shed, the earth and sky will remember their names."
With a running time of over two hours, the film "Red Rain" has truly become a bridge for every citizen, especially the younger generation, to "touch" the past with deep respect and gratitude. From there, it ignites in each heart the flame of gratitude, love for the country, and a strong desire to contribute to the development of the homeland.
