HANOI - Some cheap flower shops in Cau Giay and Hoan Kiem districts welcomed a sudden increase in customers on March 7.

At noon on March 7, three flower shops on Nguyen Khang Street, Cau Giay District, gathered hundreds of customers. Motorbikes lined the sidewalks and the road.
Customers are mainly young people who know these shops through social networks. Customers said that these places were chosen because they sell fresh flowers, packaged according to request, carefully wrapped, as beautiful as other high-end flower shops but the price is only 1/2 - 1/3, from 100,000 VND to 150,000 VND.

The demand for buying is high, on average each store often has more than 20 customers waiting. The usual procedure is that customers can choose the type of flower, quantity and ask the staff to arrange or tie the bouquet according to their preferences. This is also the reason why the service time for a customer is longer than usual.

A florist here said that the number of customers coming to the shop has increased dramatically in the past three days. The owner and four employees work continuously from early morning until midnight.
In addition to customers coming directly to the store, many people also contact to order online. At times, the store is overloaded and forced to stop accepting orders.
"In addition to customers buying flowers for their grandmothers, mothers, and colleagues, many boyfriends also bring their girlfriends to choose flowers, which are then wrapped according to their preferences," said the female employee. She also said that bouquets priced at 150,000-200,000 VND are the best sellers.

Tuan Hung, a 12th grade student in Cau Giay district, took advantage of his lunch break to buy flowers for his mother, according to his own design, for 200,000 VND. The student said that the price of flowers here is cheaper than other places, but because there are many customers, he had to wait a long time.
"Although I had to wait more than two hours to receive the flowers, I felt it was worth it because it was the first time I could buy beautiful flowers at a cheap price," Hung said. He left the store at 2:30 p.m. after waiting in line for more than two hours.

Some customers patiently waited their turn to buy flowers. However, not everyone had enough time, many gave up waiting in line when they saw the crowded scene. They planned to come back at another time or find a less crowded place to buy flowers.

On Truong Han Sieu Street, Hoan Kiem District, three flower stalls selling flowers along the sidewalk were also packed with customers. This place was crowded because it was introduced as the place selling fresh flowers at the most affordable prices.

On average, each stall has 2-5 employees but still cannot serve customers in time. Customers line up from the end of Truong Han Sieu Street to the beginning of Nguyen Du Street.
Motorbikes of people waiting to buy flowers spilled onto the road, making it difficult for many vehicles to move, and at times there was a slight traffic jam.

To buy flowers near March 8th here, most customers wait at least 45 minutes to several hours. As the afternoon progresses, the number of people increases.
In addition to basic flowers such as roses and hydrangeas, some imported flowers such as tulips, ranunculus, and delphiniums are also chosen by many young people.

Minh Anh, 20 years old, and her friend from Ha Dong district went to Truong Han Sieu street to buy a bouquet of flowers for 200,000 VND. The third-year female university student commented that the flowers here are beautiful, cheaper than the market price and beautifully arranged.
"However, we had to wait nearly two hours in line before we could choose the flowers and wait for them to be wrapped. It took a long time and our legs were quite tired," she shared.
