Consider and select the design of the Memorial to Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers who died in Cambodia at the martyrs' cemetery Hill 82 Tay Ninh

On the afternoon of July 15, 2025, the Council for the architectural design competition for the Memorial to the Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers who died in Cambodia (part of the project to upgrade the Martyrs' Cemetery at Hill 82, Tay Ninh ) held a meeting to discuss and agree on the optimal design for round 2. Comrade Nguyen Hong Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

Overview of the meeting

The project to upgrade the Martyrs' Cemetery of Hill 82 - Tay Ninh was approved by the People's Council of Tay Ninh province in Resolution No. 185/NQ-HDND. In particular, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Tay Ninh Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to organize a competition for architectural design options for the Memorial of Vietnamese Volunteers who sacrificed their lives in Cambodia to select the most optimal architectural option suitable for the project's investment objectives. The project will have great political and cultural significance, commemorating heroic martyrs in general and Vietnamese martyrs and volunteer soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the wars to protect the Fatherland in Cambodia.

The competition is widely organized with no limit on the number of organizations and individuals participating in the competition with two rounds. On May 17, 2025, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board posted information about the competition on information and communication pages. To date, 02 organizations have submitted architectural design plans for the project; representatives of the Technical Team and representatives of the organizations registering for the competition have conducted a field survey of the construction site at the Martyrs' Cemetery Hill 82 - Tay Ninh.

According to the explanation of the basis for forming ideas and design philosophy, both options have a modern design overview, using landscape spaces, architectural shapes, and images of Vietnamese Volunteer Army soldiers as required.

At the meeting, the members of the Selection Council discussed and agreed to choose the optimal design for round 2 (defending the design before the Selection Council).

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Hong Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to synthesize the evaluation opinions and contributions of the Council members, assign the participating organizations to receive the Council's evaluations, continue to adjust and perfect the design options so that the Council can unify and choose the most optimal design option, ensuring the scale, investment goals and significance of the project.
