The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is a major policy of the Party and State, and has been identified by Ca Mau as one of the top priority tasks that local authorities at all levels must carry out. The program has profound humanistic significance, promoting the nation's fine traditions of mutual assistance, love, and support, leaving no one behind in the country's integration and development process.

During the implementation process, Ca Mau province also resolved all cases of households having both housing and land difficulties, with 272 households in this situation being resolved.

In addition to the support fund of 60 million VND/new house and 30 million VND/repaired house, Ca Mau province and local authorities have mobilized social resources to support an additional 5 million VND/household to invest in standard toilets (total cost of more than 15.6 billion VND).

In addition to mobilizing financial resources, localities and organizations, especially the Youth Union, have established volunteer teams, mobilizing union members and young people to contribute their efforts to build and repair houses. The entire Ca Mau province has deployed about 97 volunteer teams, with more than 5,840 participants contributing more than 46,000 working days to build and repair temporary and dilapidated houses.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, spoke at the conference.

“The journey of the Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Ca Mau province has demonstrated the strength of solidarity, unity of will and determination of the entire Party, army and people,” said Mr. Hai.

The leaders of Ca Mau province also stated that the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has not stopped here, because the beneficiaries of the project are limited. At the same time, in the complicated weather conditions and the impact of climate change leading to subsidence, landslides , storms, whirlwinds... causing damage to people's property and material, it is inevitable that there will still be temporary, rickety, and unstable houses somewhere.

Therefore, Ca Mau province will continue to direct the review and have appropriate support policies to help households stabilize their lives, especially poor households, near-poor households, and policy families.

At the conference, the Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee also launched the Program to implement the Project to support livelihoods for poor households, near-poor households, policy households in difficult circumstances and ethnic minority households in the province for the period 2025 - 2027. The project aims to support the poor and near-poor to "settle down and make a living", escape poverty sustainably and gradually become rich legitimately.

“I call on all cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, union members, youth and people in the province to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, humanity, and kindness, actively contributing resources according to their appropriate capabilities to implement the Project. Thereby spreading the noble gestures in the movement to every hamlet, residential area and household,” said Mr. Hai.
