Currently, growers have extended the harvest season from October to December. Unlike other mango varieties, Hoa Loc mangoes are not large, weighing less than half a kilogram each. Each fruit has an elongated, round shape with a pointed tip and a characteristic round protrusion near the stem. When ripe, Hoa Loc mangoes are bright yellow, with thin skin, a characteristic fine white powdery coating, and small, dark brown spots on the surface. Hoa Loc mangoes captivate diners with their eye-catching bright yellow color, firm, smooth, and very chewy flesh, and virtually no fiber. Besides that, Hoa Loc mangoes are very sweet, and when cut open, they have a delicate aroma unlike any other mango grown elsewhere.
