Handling tax debt settlement of more than 77.2 billion VND

According to Phu Yen Tax Department, in recent times, debt settlement according to Resolution 94/2019/QH14 of the National Assembly for taxpayers who are no longer able to pay the state budget has been extremely important in helping tax authorities promptly freeze tax debts and reduce late payment fees that are difficult to collect, creating favorable conditions for taxpayers to overcome difficulties.

 

Accumulated from 2020-2022, tax authorities at all levels in the province have handled tax debt relief for 6,640 taxpayers, with the tax debt relief being nearly 75.7 billion VND; submitted to the Provincial People's Committee to clear late payment fines and late payment fees for 6,482 taxpayers with more than 56.6 billion VND.

 

In 2023, during the remaining validity period of Resolution 94/2019/QH14, Phu Yen Tax Department urgently reviewed and directed the entire industry to focus on debt settlement from the beginning of the year, ensuring maximum debt settlement in cases that are no longer able to pay the budget.

 

During the year, the Tax Department continued to process debt cancellation of more than VND 1.5 billion; submitted to the Provincial People's Committee to cancel late payment fines and late payment fees for 1,502 taxpayers with an amount of nearly VND 1.3 billion. The Tax Department also canceled debt cancellation for 84 taxpayers with an amount of VND 248.23 million; submitted to the Provincial People's Committee to cancel late payment fines and late payment fees for 108 taxpayers with an amount of VND 125.17 million.
