Tropical depression appears in the East Sea

(Chinhphu.vn) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this afternoon (June 24), the low pressure area in the North East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression.

13:00 , the center of the tropical depression is located at about 16.0 degrees North latitude; 116.2 degrees East longitude, about 500 km East Southeast of Hoang Sa archipelago.

The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 (39-49km/h). level 8 ; moving northwest at a speed of about 15km/h.

Warning of tropical depression developments (from next 48 to 72 hours):

From the next 48 to 72 hours, the tropical depression will move northwest at a speed of 15-20 km/h, gradually weakening in intensity.

The North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa archipelago) has thunderstorms and strong winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 9, rough seas. Waves are 2.0-4.0 m high. Ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
