Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra receives additional duties

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed a Decision to reorganize the Central Gratitude Fund Management Board.

According to the Decision, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Minister of Home Affairs, is the Head of the Central Gratitude Fund Management Board.

Deputy Heads of the Committee: Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee; Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front .

Members include: Mr. Pham Hong Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Association; Ms. Tran Lan Phuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The Gratitude Fund is built by voluntary contributions based on responsibility and sentiment from domestic and foreign agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals to join the state in taking care of people with revolutionary contributions.

The Gratitude Fund is used to: Repair cemeteries, memorials, build memorial houses to record the names of martyrs; support the construction and repair of houses for people with revolutionary contributions or their relatives; visit and support people with revolutionary contributions or their relatives when they are sick, receive medical examination and treatment, and when they pass away while their families are in difficulty; help people with revolutionary contributions or their relatives when they are in difficulty in life...

The Gratitude Fund Management Board at each level has the following tasks: Directing the mobilization, construction, management and use of the Gratitude Fund; inspecting the activities of the Gratitude Fund under its management; ensuring that revenue and expenditure are in accordance with regulations and compliance with current accounting and financial regimes;

Annually, the Gratitude Fund shall prepare estimates and finalize revenues and expenditures and send them to the Gratitude Fund Management Board at higher levels, the People's Committee and the financial agency at the same level. The Central Gratitude Fund Management Board shall prepare estimates and finalize revenues and expenditures and send them to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance; organize accounting and report on the Gratitude Fund's revenues and expenditures in accordance with current accounting and financial regimes; propose rewards for units and individuals with achievements; recommend handling of violations...
