At 9am this morning, the AQI index at many monitoring stations in Hanoi showed air quality was still at average and poor levels.
According to the monitoring system of the Department of Environment ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), at 9am this morning, at the measuring station at the gate of Hanoi University of Science and Technology on Giai Phong Street, the AQI index was at 115 - sensitive people have health problems, normal people are less affected. With this index, the air is classified as poor.

According to the IQAir air pollution index measuring application at 9am this morning, Hanoi is the 8th most polluted city in the world with an AQI of 186 - the red threshold, unhealthy for health.

In particular, at Quang Khanh station (West Lake area), the pollution index is very high, AQI at 9am is 230 - purple threshold, very unhealthy.
At the same time, at Ha Dong station, the air pollution index was also at a very high level, AQI 204 - purple threshold.
Experts recommend that when the air quality index reaches hazardous levels (AQI 301-500), people should minimize going out, suspend outdoor activities and move to living indoors. Close doors to avoid exposure to pollution. For sensitive groups, the recommendation is even stricter: absolutely do not go out and ensure the indoor environment is ventilated and safe.
The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch requesting departments, communes and wards of the city to deploy a series of urgent measures to control air pollution in the area.
One of the notable contents is that the Department of Education and Training is assigned to notify and guide schools to limit outdoor activities during the hours and days when air quality reaches the "bad" level or higher.
According to the document, when the VN AQI (Air Quality Index) reaches 301 or higher (the "Severe Pollution" level), the Department of Education and Training must direct schools to temporarily suspend or adjust study and work hours to ensure the health and safety of students.
