On the morning of December 7, the Vietnamese sports delegation officially left for Thailand to attend the 33rd SEA Games, led by Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training. The total number of members of the Vietnamese sports delegation attending the 33rd SEA Games is 1,165 (including leaders, officials, coaches, athletes, doctors, logistics...). It is expected that about 200 members of the Vietnamese sports delegation will attend the Opening Ceremony held in Bangkok on December 9.
The 33rd SEA Games, taking place from December 9-20, will feature 50 official sports, 574 events, and a total of 569 sets of medals. In addition, the regional Games will also feature three demonstration events: discus throw, tug of war, and aerial sports. The Vietnamese delegation will compete in 47 events, aiming to win 90-110 gold medals.
