Strong subjects in Bangkok
Before Songkhla province was severely flooded, there were 10 provinces and cities in Thailand participating in hosting the 33rd SEA Games. After Songkhla withdrew due to force majeure, 9 localities still organized competitions at this congress.

The heart of the 33rd SEA Games is Bangkok. More than 30 sports will be held in the Thai capital. Most notably, the men's football event will take place here, at Rajamangla Stadium.
Thailand's National Stadium will also host the opening ceremony on December 9 and the closing ceremony on December 20.
However, athletics does not take place at Rajamangala Stadium. The venue for the “queen sport ” is Supachalasai Stadium. Before Rajamangala was chosen as Thailand’s national stadium, Supachalasai was the football stadium that played this role.

Supachalasai is located in the city center, on the campus of Chulalongkorn University, the most prestigious university in the land of golden temples.
Meanwhile, swimming will be held at Huamark Sports Palace, part of the Rajamangala Sports Complex. Men's football, athletics and swimming are the sports and events that Vietnam is very strong in, so Rajamangala and Supachalasai will be the top places that Vietnamese fans are interested in during the SEA Games.
In addition, Bangkok also hosts volleyball (Huamark Stadium), boxing, shooting, cycling, fencing, taekwondo (Fashion Island Shopping Center and Lumpini Stadium). These are the sports in which Vietnamese sports are likely to win many gold medals.
Competition venues of interest
While the men's football takes place in Bangkok and Chiang Mai (Group C of U22 Indonesia, Philippines and Myanmar), the women's football takes place in Chonburi (more than 100km from Bangkok). Coach Mai Duc Chung's team will defend the gold medal here.

Also in Chonburi, weightlifting, cycling, canoeing, rowing and triathlon will take place. These are all sports in which we are quite strong, and are expected to help the Vietnamese sports delegation win many gold medals.
As for the two events of men's and women's futsal, they will compete in Nonthaburi, located right next to Bangkok. Vietnam Futsal strives to win gold medals in both events.

SEA Games 33 officially opened on December 9, but from today, the first competition will take place, which is football (Photo: Khoa Nguyen).
Nonthaburi is also the venue for table tennis, tennis, and mixed martial arts (MMA). Table tennis and MMA are the unknowns for the Vietnamese delegation at this congress.
Another familiar location, likely to be of interest to Vietnamese fans, is Pathum Thani (about 40km from Bangkok). Gymnastics will be held at Thammasat University Gymnasium in Pathum Thani. This is a sport in which we are very strong.
Some other localities that hosted the 33rd SEA Games were Samut Prakan, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom. However, the sports held here were mostly minor sports, or sports that were not of interest to many Vietnamese sports fans, so the attention of domestic fans for the above localities was not great.
