The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) estimates that coffee export turnover in the first 11 months of 2025 has reached 7.85 billion USD. With a high growth rate, the coffee industry is forecast to exceed the 8 billion USD mark for the whole year. This result affirms the position of Vietnamese coffee in the global market.
In the first 10 months of the year, Robusta coffee remained the main commodity, reaching nearly 1.08 million tons with a value of 5.54 billion USD. The value growth reached 60.5% compared to the same period in 2024, showing that the sharp increase in export prices has brought outstanding economic efficiency to the industry. Arabica coffee also recorded a high value growth of 108.4%.
A particular highlight is processed coffee, which has become a new growth driver. This product group reached a turnover of 1.46 billion USD, a sharp increase of 58% compared to the same period in 2024. This growth reflects the right strategy in developing deeply into the value chain and improving international competitiveness, gradually reducing dependence on raw exports.
The structural shift demonstrates that the Vietnamese coffee industry is changing, prioritizing growth based on quality and added value, rather than relying solely on output. This new structure creates conditions for Vietnam to consolidate its position as one of the world’s important and high-quality coffee supply centers.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market increased slightly on two floors:
Robusta Coffee (London):
Delivery January 2026: Up 9 USD/ton, to 4,360 USD/ton.
March 2026 delivery: Up 24 USD/ton, to 4,243 USD/ton.
Arabica Coffee (New York):
December 2025 delivery: Up 1.85 cents/lb, to 407.4 cents/lb.
March 2026 delivery: Up 1.15 cents/lb, to 374.6 cents/lb.
The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) expects Vietnam’s coffee output in the 2025-2026 crop year to increase by 10% compared to the previous crop year. The global coffee market picture is now more stable: supply in major exporting countries is less tense, and international logistics costs have also temporarily stabilized.
Despite the increase in production, coffee prices have been struggling to sustain in the highlands recently. The reason is that the amount of new coffee entering the market is increasing rapidly according to the season, while exporters are showing more caution in purchasing, reducing the pressure on prices.
European Union (EU) leaders have agreed to delay and further relax some of the provisions of the EU Deforestation Reduction Regulation (EUDR), a move that will significantly reduce the strain on global supply chains, as the original law was so strict and complex that it could disrupt trade.
In the long term, the coffee industry faces the risk of climate change causing supply to run out, and coffee prices are forecast to continue to grow. Global consumption is also increasing, especially in China, where young people are switching from tea to coffee at a very fast rate.
