In recent years, cooperatives and production facilities of Binh Lieu dong vermicelli in highland communes such as Luc Hon, Huc Dong, Binh Lieu... have boldly invested in starch filtering equipment, clean drying lines, and at the same time completed the origin tracing and brand protection records. Thanks to that, Binh Lieu dong vermicelli has been certified as a 5-star OCOP product, available in many large supermarket systems and is stably consumed through e-commerce platforms.
Not only contributing to increasing income for people in the highlands, Binh Lieu dong vermicelli has also become a symbol of clean agriculture, promoting local strengths and creating new vitality for the rural economy of the mountainous areas of Quang Ninh. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of Binh Lieu Trading and Service Joint Stock Company, shared: We invested in starch filtering machines, drying systems and standardized processes to maintain traditional quality while still being suitable for the modern market. Each package of vermicelli contains the story of the highland people.
In the eastern agricultural region of the province, processed products from Mong Cai pork have long been the pride of local people and one of the typical products of OCOP Quang Ninh. Mong Cai pig is a rare native pig breed, known for its good adaptability, healthy reproduction, soft and fragrant meat quality, and rich nutritional value.

Recognizing the value of endemic genetic resources, the province has implemented projects to preserve the original Mong Cai pig breed, while building biosafety breeding areas, aiming at value chain production. Farms and breeding facilities have launched processed products under the "Mong Cai Pig" brand such as chilled meat, ham, sausages, etc., meeting 3-4 star OCOP standards.
In addition to promoting local economic development, the OCOP product "Mong Cai Pig" is also a symbol of the process of preserving indigenous values, linking agriculture with regional brands in the integration period. Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, Director of An Loc Organic Agriculture Cooperative (Hai Ninh commune) said: Mong Cai Pig is a traditional livestock breed, but to stand firm in the market, we must raise breeding standards, apply biosafety, and deep processing to create high-value products.
The diversity of terrain from mountains to islands also creates advantages for Quang Ninh to develop endemic products. In Van Don special zone, Van Don oysters have long been famous for their sweet taste and high mineral content. The sheltered sea area and clean water are ideal conditions for oysters to grow naturally.

Mr. Dao Van Vu, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Don Special Economic Zone, commented: Participating in OCOP has created motivation for businesses to invest in deep processing. Oysters are not only sold fresh, but are also processed into a variety of products such as grilled frozen oysters, oyster floss, dried oysters, etc., helping to increase value and expand the market. Thanks to that, Van Don oysters are increasingly asserting their position in the high-end seafood product segment and are gradually approaching the export market.
Up to now, Quang Ninh has developed 432 OCOP products of 3 stars or higher, including 8 national 5-star OCOP products. With the joint efforts of the government, businesses and people, Quang Ninh's OCOP products will continue to develop widely, contributing to increasing people's income, while spreading stories about the culture and people of each region in the province.
