Expanding distribution channels for Vietnamese goods
The Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (Department of Industry and Trade) has organized "Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas" markets in many localities in the province.
This activity not only supports businesses in bringing reputable products to rural consumers, but also helps people have more information to choose, compare and evaluate the quality and price of Vietnamese goods with other products on the market.
Enterprises participating in the fair are arranged with display space and proactively prepare direct sales activities, introduce products, promote, give away samples as well as organize lucky draw games to attract customers. The fair usually takes place on weekends - the most convenient time for people to visit and shop.
Programs such as lucky spins, lucky draws and free performances also create a vibrant atmosphere, helping the market become a special shopping and entertainment destination for people in rural areas, thereby opening up good consumption opportunities for businesses, spreading the habit of using Vietnamese goods in the community.
Recently, the Provincial Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion coordinated with Tu Son Supermarket ( An Giang province) to organize 2 markets "Bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside" in Cang Long and Long Ho communes. Notably, the market in Cang Long commune attracted over 10,000 visitors and shoppers, after 4 days of operation, the total sales of enterprises reached over 400 million VND.
According to Mr. Pham Thanh Tung - Deputy Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion: In the context that consumers increasingly trust and choose Vietnamese goods because of reasonable prices and guaranteed quality, organizing markets not only contributes to strengthening the connection between supply and demand but also supports businesses in expanding the market, bringing high-quality Vietnamese goods closer to consumers in rural areas.
Each market session displays typical OCOP products, typical rural industrial products of the province and essential consumer goods. All products are strictly controlled in terms of quality, clear origin, ensuring safety for consumers' health.
Opportunity to promote local products
Not only meeting shopping needs, markets also contribute to stimulating consumption in rural areas, where the population is large but modern retail activities are not yet strongly developed.

| For businesses, fairs are an opportunity to promote and introduce products to consumers. |
Enterprises bringing Vietnamese goods directly to each locality helps shorten the distribution distance, creating conditions for people to access quality goods more easily.
The items sold at the markets are mostly consumer goods, processed foods, especially OCOP products, typical rural industrial products inside and outside the province such as: cashew nuts, Ban Me macadamia (Dak Lak province), green leaf seaweed (Khanh Hoa province), rice paper (Tay Ninh province), Pia cake ( Can Tho city), fish sauces (An Giang province)... In particular, Vinh Long province stands out with coconut candy products, herbal tea, confectionery, spices... with OCOP certification of 3 stars or more, helping consumers have more choices.
In addition to connecting direct consumption, the “Bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside” markets also expand opportunities for OCOP products and local specialties to reach the market. At the markets, people can see, try and evaluate products on the spot. The markets are an important opportunity for businesses to survey and grasp consumer habits, thereby adjusting production and business strategies accordingly.
Bringing to the market traditional jams that have achieved 3-star OCOP, Ms. Dao Thi Kim Xuyen - owner of Dao Xuyen Business Household (Cang Long commune) said: "I hope to reach more new customers, expand the market and receive direct feedback from consumers.
When customers get to try products like dried star fruit jam, star gooseberry jam, etc., I can easily listen to feedback and adjust the flavor and design to better suit consumer tastes."
As a direct shopper at the market, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc My (Long Ho commune) said: “In the context of fake and poor quality goods appearing everywhere, consumers have to choose very carefully. Thanks to the Vietnamese goods markets, I have the opportunity to access many reputable and safe products of enterprises in the province, items that I could not buy before because I did not know the point of sale.”
According to the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion, in the coming time, the unit will continue to coordinate with localities, retail enterprises, and supermarkets inside and outside the province to expand the scale and increase the number of market sessions, while improving the quality of organization, diversifying activities, and creating a more attractive shopping space for people.
It can be seen that the "Bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside" markets play a bridging role in bringing domestic goods closer to consumers, ensuring that people can buy products with clear and safe origins.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity for businesses to expand their markets, improve designs and quality, and build a distribution system from production to each locality, thereby strengthening consumers' trust in Vietnamese goods.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, since the beginning of 2025, it has successfully coordinated and organized many activities to connect supply and demand inside and outside the province. Notably, it has organized 4 Vietnamese goods markets in rural areas; a Southern folk cake festival combined with a trade promotion fair, OCOP products and regional specialties; a trade promotion fair - rural industrial products and OCOP products to celebrate the Ok Om Bok festival... Continuing to promote the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", the industry and trade sector will support businesses to improve designs, improve product quality, build brands and expand consumer markets.
