On the morning of December 4, heavy rain caused a section of Km 25 on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway (Tan Lap Commune, Lam Dong Province) to be deeply flooded, forcing authorities to temporarily block it to ensure traffic safety.
At the scene, water flooded the entire road in both directions, in some places reaching over half the wheels, stretching for about 50m. This situation makes it difficult for vehicles to control their speed, posing a potential safety risk if they continue to drive.
Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department) coordinated with the route management unit to quickly arrive and organize traffic flow from a distance. Traffic was guided to leave the highway at the intersection of Highway 55 and Phan Thiet intersection to avoid flooded areas.
According to records, Km25 is a low-lying area near the river, so it was flooded in July 2023. After that, the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway Project Management Board deployed remedial measures. However, heavy rain from the night of December 3 continued to overload the drainage system, leading to re-flooding.
