Accordingly, implementing Official Dispatch No. 2780/CD-BDTTG dated November 20, 2025 of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on reviewing and identifying mountainous communes to serve the organization of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; Official Dispatch No. 2816/CD-BDTTG dated November 25, 2025 of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on urging the review and identification of mountainous communes to serve the organization of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; At the request of the Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions in Document No. 255/TTr-SDTTG, the opinion of the Department of Agriculture and Environment in Document No. 9813/SoNNMT-CCPTNT dated December 2, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee decided to recognize the list of 11 mountainous communes and wards in Dong Nai province.
The identification of mountainous communes and wards serves the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. 11 recognized mountainous communes and wards include: Bu Gia Map commune, Tho Son commune, Bom Bo commune, Dak Nhau commune, Nghia Trung commune, Bu Dang commune, Dak O commune, Phuoc Son commune, Phuoc Long ward, Phu Nghia commune, Hang Gon ward.
Previously, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to guide the People's Committees of communes and wards to determine the proportion of natural areas located at an altitude of 200m or more above sea level; the proportion of natural areas with a terrain slope of 15% or more in communes and villages in the province according to regulations. At the same time, in coordination with the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, Dong Nai Provincial Statistics reviewed and counted communes in mountainous areas according to the criteria specified in Article 5 of Decree No. 272/2025/ND-CP dated October 16, 2025 of the Government.
