On December 4, Children's Hospital 1 in Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to honor the cooperation achievements between the hospital and the International Urological Surgery Organization (IVUmed).
Accordingly, since 1990, the Interplast USA group (the predecessor of IVUmed) has chosen Children's Hospital 1 to support and provide professional training to treat urinary tract abnormalities in children.
With the guidance of the world's leading experts, doctors quickly approach and master the most difficult techniques in pediatric genitourinary plastic surgery.
Currently, Children's Hospital 1 approaches and treats most congenital abnormalities of the genitourinary system such as hydronephrosis, double ureter, and genital abnormalities.
In particular, the level of treatment for exposed bladder and hypospadias is on par with the world, bringing a better life to thousands of children.

According to Dr. Le Thanh Hung, Head of the Department of Nephrology and Urology, Children's Hospital 1, the Department of Nephrology and Urology was established in 2019 to meet the need for specialized development.
To date, more than 50,000 pediatric patients have been examined, 8,000 surgeries have been successful, ensuring that children with kidney and urinary diseases have access to optimal treatment.
At the same time, the hospital prioritizes developing internal professional capacity through continuous training, promoting scientific research and innovation, and transferring pediatric urological surgery techniques to other hospitals.

With positive results after 35 years of cooperation, Children's Hospital 1 officially became the excellent pediatric urology center of IVUmed Organization, aiming to become the pediatric urology center of Southeast Asia.
