With the spirit of sportsmanship and traditional cultural pride, this year's tournament is expected to become a memorable milestone, creating a premise for the sports movement for ethnic minority women to continue to develop more strongly in the future.

At the event, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province Nguyen Thanh Tung said that the 2025 Quang Ninh Province Open Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament - VTV5 Cup is not only a simple sports activity, but also a solidarity festival, where the traditional values ​​of the people are infused with a new spirit - the strong, confident and aspirational spirit of women in the highlands and ethnic minority areas.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province believes that the tournament will bring exciting matches, beautiful plays, but above all, the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility"; because sports is always a bridge connecting hearts, erasing all distances in geography, language or customs.

Each athlete is a beautiful story: a story of will, determination, spirit of rising up, of the desire to assert oneself of women in modern life, but still preserving the traditional identity. At the same time, to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, socio-political organizations and people about the role of physical exercise and sports . From there, mobilize a large number of people to participate in physical exercise and sports to improve health, stature, physical strength, prevent diseases; build a healthy lifestyle and cultural environment, serving study, work, production, building and defending the Fatherland.

This year’s tournament will feature 8 women’s teams from the following provinces: Quang Ninh, Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang. The teams will compete in a 7-a-side football format, divided into 2 groups with a total of 15 matches taking place continuously over 5 days (from December 3-7).

The 2025 Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament includes female players from the San Chi, Dao Thanh Y, Dao Thanh Phan, San Diu, Tay ethnic groups... who will compete in their traditional ethnic costumes, creating a sports space associated with preserving the cultural identity of the highlands.


The prizes include: First prize of 30 million VND; second prize of 10 million VND; two third prizes, each of 5 million VND and individual prizes worth 12 million VND. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded technical prizes and secondary prizes to players participating in the tournament.
