Lien Son Lak commune was merged intact from 3 communes: Yang Tao, Bong Krang and Lien Son town (old), with a total natural area of nearly 399 km 2 . The whole commune has 8 villages and 23 hamlets with more than 6,300 households and more than 26,300 people, of which ethnic minorities account for more than 73% of the population; the rate of poor households is 18.2% and the rate of near-poor households is 16.9%...
In recent times, local Party committees and authorities have identified hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas as one of the most important political tasks in the overall development goals of the area. By integrating target programs, many programs and activities have been implemented, bringing positive results, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

Mr. Y Ron Bkrong, Secretary of Jun Hamlet Party Cell, said that Jun Hamlet currently has 117 households with 454 people, of which 111 households are M'nong ethnic people; people in the hamlet live mainly on agriculture and tourism with main services such as accommodation, dugout canoes, serving traditional cuisine... In recent times, like many other hamlets in the commune, the work of socio -economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction of the hamlet has always been paid attention to by local Party Committees and authorities with specific and practical actions. For example, all levels and sectors have given seedlings and livestock to households; organized many training courses, transferred science and technology on agriculture, business, exploited community services; supported funding for households to build facilities for community tourism... which has helped the lives of people in the hamlet to develop more and more, the appearance of Jun Hamlet has become more and more prosperous.

In 2024, Mr. Y Ron Bkrong's family is also one of 6 households in the village receiving financial support to build toilets, waste collection and treatment systems, and improve the environmental landscape... with the goal of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development. In addition, in October 2024, the Lak Lake road project around the Jun village tourist site with a total investment of nearly 30 billion VND was also handed over and put into use to protect resources and infrastructure for tourism, promoting local socio-economic development. Jun village currently has 21 households producing, trading, and providing tourism services with an estimated income of 7 billion VND from 2022 to present; 50% of households have good economic conditions. Mr. Y Ron's family alone has an income of more than 200 million VND/year, from 2 hectares of rice, 7 sao of coffee and revenue from accommodation and homestay services.
Mr. Y Ron proudly said: “Thanks to the support from all levels and sectors, along with the efforts of each individual, the poverty reduction work of Jun village has changed significantly. If in 2022, the whole village had 47 poor households, now there are only 26 poor households and it is the village with the least number of poor households in the whole commune. We strive to reduce the number to 20 poor households by 2026 and by the end of 2027, the village will have no poor households.”

Similarly, thanks to the synchronous implementation of poverty reduction programs and projects, hundreds of poor households, near-poor households, and newly escaped-poverty households have been given livelihoods to develop their family economy. Typical examples include giving breeding cows to 25 poor households and near-poor households in Drung, Cuor, Cuor Tak, and Bhok villages with a budget of nearly 656 million VND; giving more than 1,200 fruit seedlings of various kinds and 1,300 ducklings to households in the villages with a value of nearly 200 million VND; giving more than 850 fruit trees including durian, rambutan, and longan to households in Le village and residential groups 3 and 4 with a budget of more than 140 million VND; supporting funding and organizing training classes, teaching pottery making, weaving in Dong Bak village, brocade weaving in Le village, etc.
In parallel with supporting "fishing rods" for households, the Party Committee, the government, agencies and units in Lien Son Lak commune have integrated, actively propagated and mobilized people to convert ineffective crops and livestock to bring high economic value. This is not only a sustainable direction for local economic development but also helps people change their way of thinking and doing, not waiting or relying on the State. Thanks to that, the material and spiritual life and income of the people have been improved, the appearance of the locality, especially the ethnic minority areas, is increasingly prosperous...

According to the People's Committee of Lien Son Lak commune, thanks to the synchronous and effective implementation of many programs and plans, the socio-economic situation has continued to develop, remarkably. The average economic growth rate (at current prices) is estimated at 8.2%; the economic structure has shifted positively when agriculture - forestry - fishery accounts for 45.94%, small-scale industry - construction accounts for 25.66%, trade - services - tourism accounts for 28.4%; average income per capita is estimated at 35 million VND/year; the average poverty rate decreases by 3.75% per year. Infrastructure investment has been promoted to create a new look for the commune when the rate of hardening urban roads in the area reaches 96.5%; the rate of asphalted or concreted communal roads reaches 93.64%; the rate of hardened village and hamlet roads reaches 89.61%; 100% of villages and hamlets in the commune have national grid electricity, ensuring daily life and production for people...
