New record of Vietnamese golf appears: 138 athletes compete for prize fund of 2.3 billion VND

Lexus Challenge 2025 takes place from March 19 to March 21 in Vung Tau. This is the opening tournament for this year's Vietnam professional golf season. Before the tournament, VGA Tour athletes and ADT representatives had 2 days of practice at The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram course.

In its fifth year, the tournament, co-sponsored by the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) and the Asian Golf Association (Asian Tour), raised the prize fund to 90,000 USD (nearly 2.3 billion VND). This is a record for Vietnamese golf.

The 2025 Vietnam professional golf season kicks off in Vung Tau in March when players begin competing at the Lexus Challenge.

The Lexus Challenge 2025 will be run under the local rules of the Asian Tour and will be coordinated by Regional Tour Director Todd Silasuwan. Mr. Vu Quan will continue to serve as Head of Referees for the VGA Tour and Mr. Krirkchai Boonprasert will serve as Head of Referees for the ADT.

Lexus Challenge 2025 brings together 138 athletes from many countries such as Thailand, Korea, England, Singapore, America, ... including 28 athletes from VGA Tour and 86 athletes from ADT. Some notable faces are Truong Chi Quan, Tran Le Duy Nhat, Nguyen Huu Quyet, Doan Van Dinh, Nguyen Nhat Long, ... and 17 young talents selected by the Vietnam Golf Association.

Unlike the Lexus Challenge 2024, this year's season will not have a qualifying round. According to the tournament rules, athletes will have 3 official competition days and after round 2, only 50 athletes with qualified results will compete in the final round to find the champion.

With its natural sand dune terrain, constant elevation changes, strong winds and sudden changes of direction, The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram is a golf course suitable for hosting a “transformative” tournament. Not only famous for its spectacular scenery, The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram meets the most rigorous standards, requiring athletes to have appropriate tactics and good ball control.
