In 2025, the country will have about 10 large-scale capacity and thinking assessment exams organized by universities. Of these, the exams of Hanoi National University (HSA), Ho Chi Minh City National University (APT) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (TSA) are the largest in scale, with 50-100 schools using the results for admission.
Currently, 10 universities nationwide have announced the minimum score based on the assessment of ability and thinking. This is the minimum score that candidates need to achieve to apply for admission to universities. The admission score can be equal to or higher than this level.
STT | School | HSA score (150 scale) | TSA Test Score (out of 100) | APT score (1,200 scale) |
1 | National Economics University | 85 | 60 | 700 |
2 | Banking Academy | 85 | ||
3 | University of Commerce | 80 | 50
4 | Foreign Trade University | 100 | 60 | 850 |
5 | Phenikaa University | 80 (for Health, except Hospital Management), 70 (remaining majors) | 60 (for Health, except Hospital Management), 50 (for other majors)
6 | Hanoi Open University | 75 | 50
7 | Hoa Sen University | 67 | 600
8 | Thang Long University | 80
9 | Red Star University | 60 | 50
10 | University of Foreign Languages (Hue University) | 700 |
From 2025, universities must convert equivalent scores between admission methods to a common scale. The conversion applies to majors and programs with multiple admission methods, to ensure that the benchmark scores for the same major are equivalent and accurately assess the core competencies of learners. The conversion formula will be announced after the high school graduation exam score distribution is available.
