On the afternoon of October 9, the drawing ceremony for the 100 teams participating in the 22nd Hanoi - An ninh Thu do High School Student Football Tournament in 2023, Number 1 Active Cup, took place at the An ninh Thu do headquarters.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Head of the Organizing Committee and Ms. Nguyen Cam Phuong, Deputy Director of External Relations of Tan Hiep Phat Group introduced the trophy for the winning team.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Head of the Editorial Board of An ninh Thu do, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament shared: "To run a football tournament with up to 100 participating teams is an extremely difficult task for the organizers.
However, we believe that with the experience of the previous 21 seasons, from 2001 to present, An ninh Thu do will continue to successfully organize the 22nd season in 2023."
Besides, Mr. Binh emphasized: "Since it is a sport with a competitive nature like football, it is normal to compete with determination and even fierceness. However, I hope that teachers, especially coaches, do not make winning or losing the main goal of the tournament, but let us consider this as a playground, giving students a place to learn, exchange in a healthy and joyful way."
The 100 teams participating in this year's tournament are divided into 25 groups (4 teams each), playing a round-robin to select the 25 group winners to advance to the next round. In addition, the 7 second-placed teams with the highest results in the 25 groups also have tickets to the knockout round, where there are a total of 32 teams.
Among the most notable results, the defending champion Phan Huy Chu High School - Thach That is in Group I with Quang Trung High School, Nguyen Gia Thieu High School and Viet Uc High School. The runner-up Thach That is in Group A with Nguyen Binh Khiem High School, MAY Academy High School and Dinh Tien Hoang High School.
The matches will take place from Sunday, October 15. This year, the tournament will take place at the Tay Ho District Sports Center Stadium (101 Xuan La, Tay Ho, Hanoi).
