On November 2, in Hanoi , K Hospital celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Indochina Curie Institute (formerly K Hospital).
At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated the achievements and efforts of K Hospital in caring for and protecting people's health and suggested that the hospital should continue to innovate, be dynamic, creative, have aspirations, strategies, and strive to soon become the leading cancer center in the region, a trusted destination not only for patients but also for international colleagues and friends.
Along with that, the hospital needs to continue to promote propaganda work, raise people's awareness of cancer prevention and synchronously implement measures to further improve the quality and effectiveness of medical examination and treatment; be more active in scientific research, training, and guidance, especially transferring cancer prevention and treatment techniques to satellite hospitals and lower-level hospitals; continue to promote training, grasp new techniques and technologies of the world to apply cancer prevention in Vietnam.

K Hospital, formerly the Indochina Curie Institute, was established in Hanoi on October 19, 1923 by Frenchman Pierre-Émile-Marius Mourlan with the initial purpose of treating cancer for French and native people in Indochina.
After 100 years of establishment and development, K Hospital has always maintained its role as the leading specialized facility in the country in cancer prevention and treatment, contributing to the formation of a national cancer prevention network, in charge of directing 11 specialized hospitals, 72 oncology centers/departments/units.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presented the Friendship Medal to the Curie Institute - Republic of France. Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan presented the Medal for People's Health to 4 international experts.
