130 young talents to attend the 2025 National U23 Fencing Championship

On the afternoon of October 19, at Tuan Chau Ward Sports Complex, Quang Ninh province, the 2025 National U23 Fencing Championship officially opened.

Athletes compete in the Men's Sabre event.

The tournament was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province in coordination with the Vietnam Sports Administration, bringing together 130 athletes from 6 sports delegations from provinces and cities across the country.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, emphasized: The tournament is an opportunity to select, discover and nurture talents for the national team, preparing for upcoming regional and international tournaments.

The 2025 National U23 Fencing Championship held in Quang Ninh is not only a playground for young athletes to gain experience but also affirms the province's position.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung said that Quang Ninh always pays attention to developing the sports career, synchronously investing in a system of modern institutions and has affirmed its position as the Sports Center of the Northeast region, successfully hosting many major sporting events, including competitions of the 31st SEA Games; hosting the National Sports Congress in 2022; National Championships...

The 2025 National U23 Fencing Championship will compete in 15 sets of medals. The competition format is knockout.

The organizing committee awarded medals for the women's sword event.

Athletes compete in 3 types of weapons: rapier, sword and three-edged sword, divided into 3 main groups: Individual (6 events): Men's/women's rapier, men's/women's sword, three-edged sword; Team (6 events): Men's/women's rapier, men's/women's sword, three-edged sword; Mixed Team (3 events): Men's and women's rapier; Men's and women's sword; Men's and women's three-edged sword.

Before the Opening Ceremony, athletes competed and awarded medals in the categories: Men's Saber, Women's Saber to athletes with high achievements. The tournament will last until October 25, 2025.
