Messi and his teammates had a great journey.
David Beckham expressed his feelings in a message posted on his personal Instagram account, praising Messi and his Inter Miami teammates: "A great way to end the MLS regular season with a big away win (against Nashville SC 5-2 on October 19).
Thank you to the amazing fans who have given the team the most support and energy this season. We enter an exciting new chapter in the club's history next week, when a new playoff journey begins. La Familia, we hear you singing again. Let's go Inter Miami."

Since the founding of Inter Miami Club 7 years ago, this is only the 4th time that Mr. David Beckham's young team has participated in the playoff round to compete for the MLS Cup championship. In which, the first time in 2020 was from the qualifying round, in 2022 and 2024, and this year 2025 all competed from the first round.
In the previous 3 MLS Cup appearances, Inter Miami stopped at the first round. The most disappointing was in 2024, when Inter Miami lost to Atlanta United FC, after winning the first match and losing the next 2 matches in a series of 3 matches in the first round of the playoffs.
This year, Inter Miami ranked 3rd in the Eastern Conference standings with 65 points after 34 matches, which is also 3rd in the overall MLS standings (30 clubs). Thanks to that, they continue to have the advantage in the first round of the playoffs when facing Nashville SC, the team that just lost 2-5 to Inter Miami on October 19, as well as losing 1-2 in the first leg in July.
This will be a great opportunity for Messi and his teammates to overcome the disappointment of last year, to advance to the next round (called the Eastern region semi-finals). Inter Miami will host Nashville SC in the first match at home (at 7am on October 25), then they travel to play the second match at 6:30am on November 2, before returning home to play the third match of round 1 on November 9 (all Vietnam time).

Messi and his teammates need to win two matches to advance. In case of a draw after 90 minutes, a penalty shootout will be held to determine the winner. If they win both first matches, they will not play the third match.
If they advance to the regional semifinals, Inter Miami could face either FC Cincinnati or Columbus Crew. In the Eastern Conference final, they will face the other opponents in the remaining bracket, which includes Philadelphia Union vs. Chicago Fire FC or Orlando City SC (qualifying round); and Charlotte FC vs. New York City FC.
If Inter Miami wins the Eastern Conference playoffs, they will face the Western Conference winners, such as San Diego FC, Son Heung-min's Los Angeles FC, or Thomas Muller's Vancouver Whitecaps FC, for the MLS Cup title on December 7.
Messi's future is tied to Inter Miami
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, transfer news expert: "Messi will soon sign a contract extension with Inter Miami, ending all rumors about his future after his two teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets retired after this season ended. Messi is completely focused on the Inter Miami project, he is expected to officially sign a new contract with the club soon, with the final details being arranged."
