At the Meeting, the leaders of the Provincial Women's Union presented a speech reviewing the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025). Accordingly, exactly 95 years ago, on October 20, 1930, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the Vietnam Women's Union was officially established. Over nearly a century, generations of Vietnamese women in general and Lai Chau women in particular have continuously promoted the tradition of "Heroic - Indomitable - Loyal - Responsible", making worthy contributions to the construction and development of the homeland and the country.

Associated with the 95-year history of the Vietnam Women's Union, Lai Chau women increasingly strong development in all aspects. Since the early days of re-establishment of the province, overcoming many difficulties, up to now, Lai Chau Provincial Women's Union has had 38 Union bases, 956 branches with over 90,000 members regularly participating in activities, the rate of women gathering is nearly 70%. The rate of women participating in Party committees, participating in election agencies and women in leadership and management is increasing, the role of women is increasingly affirmed.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the Union at all levels has registered and implemented more than a hundred practical models and emulation movements associated with the local political tasks, typically: The model "Women help each other develop the economy", supporting over 13,828 poor women's households to borrow capital and escape poverty sustainably. The campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" has been registered by over 90% of member households, actively contributing to the New Rural Construction Program...

In particular, in recent years, with the support of Plan, the Provincial Women's Union has successfully implemented many programs with profound humanity such as: "Empowering women and children in ethnic minority areas", "Supporting youth to start a business", "Promoting gender equality and preventing early marriage and incestuous marriage"... Thereby, thousands of women and girls have raised their awareness, life skills, and confidence to speak up.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Sung A Ho - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee emphasized that the theme of the meeting "95-year journey - Voice and power of women" has a particularly profound meaning. It is not only an opportunity to look back on the glorious and proud journey of the women's movement and the Women's Union, but also an opportunity to affirm the role, voice, position and power of women in the new period. On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged, commended and congratulated the outstanding results and achievements; sent congratulations on October 20 to all levels of the Women's Union and women in the whole province who have achieved in the past time. At the same time, he expressed deep gratitude to generations of cadres and women's union members in the province who have devoted, sacrificed and contributed to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and the homeland of Lai Chau.

In response to the requirements and tasks of the new period, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Provincial Women's Union and all levels of the Union in the whole province to continue to strengthen propaganda, education and mobilization work for women to promote good traditions, foster political qualities, patriotism, and faith in the Party and the socialist regime. Promote the core role of women in production development, restructuring crops and livestock, protecting the environment, preserving the traditional cultural identity of ethnic minorities; actively participate in the emulation movements of the province. Unions at all levels proactively innovate the content and methods of operation in a practical and modern direction, applying information technology and digital transformation in propaganda, management and operation; proactively advise the Party Committee and the government to promulgate and effectively implement mechanisms and policies to support women's comprehensive development, especially women in remote areas and ethnic minority areas; Continue to care for, look after, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of women and children; carry out gender equality and domestic violence prevention work well, leaving no one behind...

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hopes and believes that Lai Chau women will continue to promote the good tradition, join hands and unite with the Party Committee, government and people in the province to successfully implement the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, build Lai Chau province to develop greenly, quickly and sustainably, and join the whole country in entering a new era - the era of strong and prosperous development of the nation.

At the meeting, former leaders of the Provincial Women's Union spoke, shared their feelings, enthusiasm and sent their thoughts and feelings to generations of women in the province; a young Dao ethnic woman shared her own start-up story; the Director of the Center for Gender, Family and Community Development shared the topic "Voice and power of women" which clarified the inner strength, voice and power of women in the new period.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Women's Union awarded the "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" Medal to 42 individuals who have made many contributions to the equality and development of Vietnamese women.
