Trade unions contribute to taking care of workers

Phu Khang Phan Rang Company Limited (Thanh Hai Industrial Park, Bao An Ward) is a private enterprise specializing in garments, established in early 2025 with nearly 300 workers. Immediately after that, the Provincial Federation of Labor approached and guided the unit to establish a Steering Committee for the establishment of a Trade Union to propagate to workers about the role of the trade union and the rights and obligations of union members. With the active support and consensus of the business owner, by September 2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor announced the decisions to establish the Trade Union of Phu Khang Phan Rang Company Limited and admitted more than 45 union members to the union organization. Ms. Le Thi Huong - a worker of the company shared: "Because the union has clearly promoted and disseminated information, I voluntarily wrote an application to join the union to be taken care of and have my legitimate rights protected. Hopefully, in the coming time, the company's union will promote its role and be a bridge with business leaders to ensure jobs, increase income and create many benefits for union members and employees."

After nearly 1 month of establishment, the number of union members at the company applying to join the union has increased by more than 100 people. Mr. Do Van Duong - Director of Phu Khang Phan Rang Company Limited said: "The unit is committed to closely coordinating with the Trade Union to promptly listen and resolve arising issues in the spirit of dialogue, cooperation, respect and compliance with the law. Having a union will contribute to the enterprise to take good care of the material and spiritual life of employees".

In September, the Provincial Federation of Labor also announced the decision to establish the Trade Union of Minh An Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (Phan Rang Ward) with 25 union members. Most of the employees of the unit voluntarily wrote applications to join the union to protect their legitimate and legal rights. Business leaders see the union as a "bridge" to help establish harmonious and stable labor relations, thereby accompanying the business in the long-term development process. Previously, at the end of August, the Provincial Federation of Labor also issued a decision to establish the Trade Union of Hong Phat Production Service Company Limited (Suoi Dau Industrial Park, Cam Lam Commune) and admitted nearly 30 new union members. Ms. Nguyen Hong Diep - Director of Hong Phat Production Services Co., Ltd. shared: "The unit was established in April 2025, specializing in processing and preserving seafood. The establishment of a trade union organization in the company will help build a strong labor relationship between leaders and employees; promptly resolve and ensure better benefits for workers. The unit will always support and create favorable conditions for the union to operate, promoting its role as an organization representing employees."

Innovation, improving the quality of operations

Recently, after completing the activities of the trade union at the industry and district levels, the Provincial Federation of Labor has established 14 ward trade unions including: Nha Trang, Tay Nha Trang, Nam Nha Trang, Bac Nha Trang, Ninh Hoa, Dong Ninh Hoa, Cam Ranh, Bac Cam Ranh and Cam Linh, Phan Rang, Dong Hai, Ninh Chu, Bao An, Do Vinh. The establishment of ward trade unions marks a new step of development of the trade union organization, in line with the Party and State's policy on streamlining the apparatus and improving the operational efficiency of the two-level local government. Ward trade unions are an extension of the Provincial Federation of Labor in gathering, uniting, and promoting the strength of the working class and laborers in the locality. In the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to research and establish trade unions in communes in the province.

According to the leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the grassroots trade union is the place that directly performs the function of caring for and protecting workers in enterprises and public service units. When the union force is expanded and the grassroots trade union is established, the voice of workers is spread, thereby contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations. Since 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor has mobilized and established nearly 100 grassroots trade unions and admitted nearly 20,000 new union members, bringing the total number of grassroots trade unions in the province to more than 900 with nearly 90,000 active members. Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, trade unions at all levels will continue to promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots trade unions, especially in enterprises that do not have a trade union organization. To attract workers to join the trade union organization, trade unions at all levels will focus on innovating activities to care for each union member and worker. At the same time, build a flexible, adaptive and creative union model to meet the requirements of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers in the area.

In addition, increase the application of information technology and digital media platforms to connect and grasp the thoughts of workers; mobilize workers and enterprises to establish grassroots unions and join trade unions. Along with that, strengthen the work of representing and protecting the legitimate rights of workers with specific measures. Continue to diversify forms of propaganda about the benefits of joining trade unions; raise awareness of business owners and workers about the role of trade unions in building a stable working environment; pay attention to training and fostering advocacy, persuasion and dialogue skills for trade union officials at all levels; apply social networks to approach and connect with workers, especially young workers; coordinate with authorities and functional sectors to strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of labor laws, encourage units and enterprises to establish trade unions as a factor in assessing the sustainable development index; At the same time, replicate effective grassroots union models, creating trust and influence in the community.
