The journey to rise

Born in Cao Bang , in 1978, while studying at a high school, student Tach Phan Quyet followed the sacred call of the Fatherland, volunteered to join the army, becoming a tank soldier of the 201st Tank Brigade. During 15 years of military service, the son of the Tay ethnic group in the revolutionary land of Cao Bang has held many positions from Vehicle Chief, Platoon Leader, Regimental Combat Assistant, with the rank of captain. Those years have forged in him the steely spirit, the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the discipline of "Uncle Ho's soldier".

In 1993, when the northern border was peaceful, he asked to be demobilized from the army and returned to his hometown, then brought his young wife and 5 small children to start a business in Khanh Trung commune (now Trung Khanh Vinh commune). In the middle of the wild mountains and forests, lacking capital, lacking production experience, and fighting malaria for many years, the soldier was not discouraged. He remembered Uncle Ho's teachings: "Nothing is difficult, only fear of not being persistent..." and considered it a guiding principle on his journey to start a business in a new land.

From the initial few acres of land, the couple reclaimed land to grow sugarcane, acacia, green-skinned grapefruit, saving little by little to expand production. Up to now, the family has 4 hectares of sugarcane, 3 hectares of acacia, 1.2 hectares of grapefruit in Trung Khanh Vinh commune; at the same time, they bought an additional 10 hectares of rice fields in Dak Lak province to rent to people for rice cultivation. In particular, the model of breeding cows for reproduction is the most sustainable way, helping his family have a stable income of more than 300 million VND per year.

Currently, the family of veteran Tach Phan Quyet has a herd of more than 60 cows. His farming model is entirely based on natural grass, without spending on feed or hiring workers. He takes advantage of vacant land, harvested or mature acacia forests to graze the cows, and every once in a while moves them to another area. During the day, the cows are free to forage, and at night they are herded into a temporary barn with a B40 net, next to a small hut where he, his wife, and his uncle take turns looking after them. This method, both economical and environmentally friendly, helps the cows stay healthy and reproduce regularly. Now, the couple not only have a solid foundation but also raise 5 children to adulthood, with stable jobs. That is the greatest achievement of a lifetime of hard work and determination.

Dedicated to the community

Not only is he good at business , veteran Tach Phan Quyet is also respected by the people for his kind heart and sense of responsibility to the community. He confided: “When I first came here, my family was lacking in many ways, and often got sick because I was not used to the land. The people in the area took care of me, helped me, and shared every meal. Later, when the economy improved, seeing the people still struggling, I remembered my old self. Therefore, I helped them to the best of my ability.”

From that simple and meaningful thought, in 2016, he mobilized and then transferred 18 breeding cows (at that time worth nearly 300 million VND) to nearly 10 ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances in Suoi Ca village to raise. He also enthusiastically instructed on techniques for caring for and preventing diseases for cows, regularly visited the place to monitor and share experiences. Thanks to that, all households have been successful with the model of raising breeding cows. Up to now, there are households that have maintained a herd of 8-10 cows, gradually escaping poverty sustainably. For example, households: Cao La Hien, Cao Thi Hien, Cao Thi Van...

Along with that, Mr. Quyet also actively participates in social work. Over the past decades, he has held many positions such as: Vice Chairman of the People's Committee and Head of the Commune Police, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Trung Commune (old) and currently he is a member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Trung Khanh Vinh Commune for the 2025 - 2030 term. Regardless of his position, the former tank soldier is always dedicated, exemplary, mobilizing people and members to actively carry out emulation movements: "Exemplary war veterans", "Good farmers in production and business", "Young people establishing themselves and starting a business"..., contributing to socio-economic development, consolidating the great national unity bloc in the locality.

Mr. DUONG VAN HAI - Chairman of the Association of War Veterans of Trung Khanh Vinh Commune: War veteran Tach Phan Quyet is a shining example of the commune's War Veterans Association members in the movement of overcoming difficulties, developing the economy effectively and making many positive contributions to the work of building the association, as well as social activities in the locality. His "Uncle Ho's soldier" qualities are clearly demonstrated through his will, determination and kindness, ready to help members and people in difficulty.
