Accompanying were leaders of departments and branches: Provincial Military Command; Home Affairs; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Provincial People's Committee Office and representatives of local leaders.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich and the delegation visited the remains of 18 martyrs being worshiped at the Military Command of Ia Boong commune.

According to the report of the Provincial Military Command (Standing Agency of the Provincial Steering Committee 515), based on the results of reviewing and standardizing data on the area, search map products, and the collection of martyrs' remains from the Ia Boong Commune Policy Council and information provided by people in Ga village, Ia Boong commune; from October 6 to October 20, 2025, Team K52 (under the Provincial Military Command) coordinated with the Party Committee, authorities, and the Ia Boong Commune Military Command to organize search forces at 06 locations with information in Ga village and Ninh Phuc hamlet with a total of 636 working days; digging 3,740m of trenches and about 1,872m of earth and rock.

On October 13, 2025, 01 martyr's remains were discovered. The unit then continued to dig and search, expanding to surrounding locations. By 5:40 p.m. on October 14, 2025, 17 more martyrs' remains were discovered and collected. Each martyr's remains were carefully collected by the unit, following the correct procedures, instructions, and fully enumerating the relics. At the same time, implementing the direction of the Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 515, the Provincial Military Command handed over biological samples to the Military Forensic Institute, the Military Medical Department for appraisal. According to the initial assessment of the Provincial Military Command, these were martyrs from the anti-American resistance war who died between 1960 and 1972.

According to the list of units of the Ministry of National Defense , Army Corps 3, Military Region 5 informed about the martyrs' graves, they have searched and collected them but still need to continue searching and collecting 12 more graves - 01 area - at Ga Village, Ia Boong Commune.

In the coming time, the Provincial Military Command will coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs of Gia Lai province and relevant agencies and units to organize the memorial service and burial of martyrs' remains to ensure solemnity and compliance with State regulations. The Provincial Military Command directs agencies and units to expand search locations according to information in the results of the review, standardize data on the area, search map products, and collect martyrs' remains from the Ia Boong Commune Policy Council; continue to coordinate with functional agencies to promote propaganda and mobilize organizations and individuals to actively provide relevant information to serve the search and collection work. After the results of the DNA examination, the Provincial Military Command will advise the Provincial Steering Committee 515 to organize a conference, invite the Association of the Elderly, the Association of Former Youth Volunteers and a number of historical witnesses during the war to discuss, draw full and scientific conclusions on information on collective martyrs' graves and report to all levels in accordance with regulations.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

Concluding the working session, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of Team K52, along with the active coordination of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Ia Boong commune in the work of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that in the coming time, Team K52 continue to carry out the task of searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia during the 2025-2026 dry season.

Ia Boong commune is requested to continue to proactively review and collect more information about areas where martyrs' remains are likely to remain; when there is new information, it is necessary to promptly contact the Provincial Military Command to coordinate the search. At the same time, Ia Boong commune is assigned to preside over the organization of a memorial service for the 18 martyrs' remains that have just been discovered; consider and propose a suitable time for the Provincial People's Committee to preside over the organization of a memorial service and burial at Chu Prong Martyrs' Cemetery.

From now until the ceremony, the locality needs to arrange forces to protect and worship the martyrs' remains according to regulations, ensuring solemnity and thoughtfulness, demonstrating the nation's morality of "When drinking water, remember its source".

The historical site of Plei Me Victory (October 19, 1965 - November 19, 1965) in Ia Ga commune, Chu Prong district (old), Gia Lai province - now in Tan Thuy village, Ia Pia commune, was ranked as a National Monument in 2009. The Plei Me campaign was the first battle against the US on the Central Highlands battlefield. After 30 days of fierce attacks, the Central Highlands main force troops together with the army and people of Gia Lai (directly in District 5 - now Ia Pia commune) destroyed: 1,700 US troops and 1,274 puppet troops; the 3rd Armored Division of the puppet army; an American battalion (3rd Brigade of the 1st Airborne Division); a puppet battalion; destroyed 89 military vehicles; shot down and destroyed 59 helicopters.

The Plei Me victory has gone down in the glorious history of our nation. Countless soldiers and people fought and sacrificed heroically to achieve the Plei Me victory as well as many other victories… to clear the homeland of enemies, unify the country, and reunite the North and South. With the spirit and will to dare to fight and defeat the Americans, the great significance of the first victory over the Americans on the Central Highlands battlefield - the Plei Me victory has always been the pride of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands in general and Gia Lai in particular.

After listening to the report of local leaders and inspecting the field at the Plei Me Victory Historical Site, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich requested the locality to continue to closely coordinate with relevant departments and branches to promote propaganda for this important event. At the same time, she requested the locality to study the connection of Ia Drang Valley to the Plei Me Victory Historical Site complex, and to build a dossier to propose the ranking of a special national relic, in order to honor historical values.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to develop a detailed plan to ensure a solemn, meaningful and absolutely safe celebration.
