14:00 today, open 1 bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir

The Minister of Agriculture and Environment has just issued Official Dispatch No. 3705/CD-BNNMT dated June 26 to the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company regarding the opening of a bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir.

The telegram stated that at 8:00 a.m. on June 26, 2025, the upstream water level of Tuyen Quang Lake was at 105.2m, the downstream water level was 50.51m, the flow to the lake was ^1,393m3 /s, and the maximum power generation flow to the downstream was ^729m3 /s.

Implement the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Red River Basin in Decision No. 740/QD-TTg dated June 17, 2019 of the Prime Minister, Decision No. 922/QD-TTg dated May 14, 2025 of the Prime Minister amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Red River Basin; Resolution No. 102/NQ-CP dated June 29, 2024 of the Government on ensuring the direction and operation of natural disaster prevention and control during the period of perfecting the civil defense command and direction agencies at all levels, Document No. 3995/VPCP-NN dated May 8, 2025 of the Government Office on organizing the monitoring, supervision and implementation of natural disaster prevention and control work, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment ordered the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to open 01 bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir at 14:00 on June 27, 2025 to maintain the upstream water level at 105.2m.

In addition, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company closely monitors the developments of floods, construction safety, flow to the reservoir, upstream and downstream water levels of the reservoir, and promptly reports to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention and Control) and relevant agencies as prescribed.

Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment issued Official Dispatch No. 3745/BNNMT-DD to the People's Committees of Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hanoi provinces and cities regarding ensuring downstream safety when operating Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir.

To ensure the safety of works and riverside activities, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committees of the above provinces and cities to immediately notify authorities at all levels, people, organizations operating on rivers and riverside; aquaculture facilities, water transport vehicles; ferry terminals; review and ensure the safety of works under construction; activities of sand and gravel exploitation and transfer to know the information on flood discharge from Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir to proactively take preventive measures to ensure the safety of people and property. At the same time, promptly report and propose solutions to handle unusual situations that may occur during flood discharge to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control).
