154 workers hospitalized due to braised mackerel in lunch

Mr. Dieu Quang Dao, Deputy Head of the Food Safety and Hygiene Department (Phu Tho Provincial Department of Health) has just sent a document to the Ministry of Health announcing the end of the food poisoning incident that occurred at Sunrise Apparel Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Hoang Xa Industrial Park, Thanh Thuy District, Phu Tho) on August 28, causing 154 people to be hospitalized with symptoms of headache, dizziness, diarrhea, difficulty breathing...

Based on the results of the investigation, testing of patient samples, stored food and opinions of medical examination and treatment facilities, the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Phu Tho province determined that this was a case of mass food poisoning due to eating high levels of Histamine in braised mackerel at lunch (825 people had lunch together).

The meal supplier is Hoang Thuy Trading and Service Company Limited (Van Phu Ward, Viet Tri City, Phu Tho) . The inspection team coordinated and provided relevant documents as requested by Thanh Thuy District Police to serve the investigation and handling of violations against organizations/individuals violating food safety and hygiene.

This agency requested the Phu Tho Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Product Quality Management to strengthen inspection and supervision of units under its management that have contracts to supply food to collective kitchens of enterprises and schools; promptly prevent unsafe food, and trace the origin of food...

Thanh Thuy District People's Committee fully and seriously implements the instructions of Phu Tho province on preventing and handling food poisoning, focusing on inspecting and supervising collective kitchens.

It is known that the 154 poisoning cases mentioned above were given emergency treatment and were discharged from the hospital on August 30.
