At 10:30 p.m. on March 4, 2024, at a location on Minh Mang Street, Thuy Xuan Ward, Hue City, Long was discovered and arrested while delivering drugs to someone else. The total amount of drugs seized from Long was 166.13 grams of Methamphetamine.

In addition to being caught red-handed, at 9:00 p.m. on March 4, 2024 at Dan Nam Giao, Truong An Ward, Hue City, Long sold 7 pink meth pills to a person whose name and address were unknown for 200,000 VND.

At court, the Trial Panel determined: The defendant is a person with full criminal capacity, fully aware that the illegal purchase and storage of drugs for the purpose of illegally selling drugs to others is very dangerous, causing very bad consequences for society. However, because he wanted to make illegal profits, the defendant committed an illegal act, violating the State's monopoly on drug management, spreading and giving rise to drug and other evils, disturbing order and security in the locality, so he must be severely punished toeducate the defendant and deter and prevent the general public.

The jury sentenced Nguyen Duc Chi Long to 20 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking".
