This is the second time President Joko Widodo has paid a State visit to Vietnam, following his visit in September 2018. The visit contributes to further strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia that has been nurtured for nearly 70 years (from 1955 to present).

President Widodo's state visit to Vietnam is a testament to Vietnam's consistent policy of attaching importance to relations with neighboring countries and ASEAN, including Indonesia.
