On the afternoon of June 22, Ms. Le Thi Hue and her 10-year-old son and 16-year-old nephew went to play at Be De Lake in Dong Nai Thuong Commune, Cat Tien District (Lam Dong). While playing on the shore, Ms. Hue's son fell into the water. The mother and her nephew immediately went to save him, but unfortunately encountered deep water and continued to sink into the lake. Many people discovered him and ran to help, but all efforts were unsuccessful.

Rescue forces from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Region 4 were dispatched to the scene, coordinating with local authorities to organize the rescue. After searching the lake, the authorities found 3 bodies and brought them to shore.

Be De irrigation lake has a water depth of 5-15 meters and is about 2 hectares wide. Local authorities have put up many warning signs to prevent drowning accidents.

After the above incident, Cat Tien District People's Committee supported each death with 20 million VND and directed related units and localities to organize funerals for the 3 people.
