On the afternoon of July 22, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province coordinated with BOLT Event Joint Stock Company to hold a meeting to discuss plans for organizing the "Quang Tri International Marathon 2025" and the "Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025" swimming and running duathlon .
According to the plan, the two tournaments will take place from August 1 to 3. Specifically, on August 1, the Organizing Committee will distribute running bags and athlete identification numbers; organize tournament introductions, sponsor booths and a trial swim before the official competition day.
On August 2, the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 swimming and running tournament will officially kick off at Hoang Van beach walking street (Regal Legend Quang Tri Urban Area).
The competition distances will start at 5:30 am, including: Olympic Aqua Warriors: 1.5km swim + 10km run; Sprint Aqua Warriors: 750m swim + 5km run; Junior Aqua Warriors: 300m swim + 2km run; Kids Aqua Warriors: 150m swim + 1km run and Open Water Swimming: 1.5km swim
On August 3, the “Quang Tri International Marathon 2025” will take place with 4 distances including 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km. The starting and finishing points are both located at Ho Chi Minh Square, Hung Vuong Street, Dong Hoi Ward, Quang Tri Province.
The total number of athletes participating in the two tournaments is expected to be around 4,000. Of which, the Aqua Warriors tournament has around 1,000 athletes and the Quang Tri International Marathon has around 3,000 athletes.
At the meeting, relevant units discussed and exchanged many important contents such as ensuring traffic safety, environmental sanitation, health, security and order and appropriate road ban plans to ensure the tournament takes place successfully, safely and effectively.
Mr. Le Phu Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province said: This is a useful sports playground to help people and tourists exercise, improve their physical fitness, contributing to the effective implementation of the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build a career and defend the country" in Quang Tri province.
Besides, this is also an opportunity to promote the image of Quang Tri to domestic and international friends, expand cultural, sports and tourism exchanges, thereby promoting local socio-economic development.
